Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Sponsorships Poder 97.1, the Marketing & Sponsorships Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Poder 97.1 leadership team in all fundraising activities, signature events, operational activities, community outreach and performing clerical duties. This position is expected to support the vision, mission, and strategic plans of the Ibero-American Action League, Inc. and ensure compliance with public radio and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) standards and guidelines.

  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with staff, sponsors, on-air personalities, funding sources, partner agencies and other Ibero programs.
  • Provides clerical support to the Director of Marketing and Sponsorships including, but not limited to typing, filing, and translations.
  • Participates and supports all community activities related to Poder 97.1 and supports Poder's presence at community events throughout the year.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings and agency events as assigned.
  • Manages Poder 97.1 social media, and web presence.
  • Provides administrative support for radio station.
  • Creates marketing collateral for internal and external audiences as directed by the director or Radio Station Manager.
  • Maintains and updates regularly on-air personality directory, vendor and sponsor mailing database and other directories that may be established for Poder 97.1.
  • Tracks all relevant paperwork for radio station sales and ensures monthly billing and invoicing is completed in partnership with the finance department. Reports regularly to the Director of Marketing and Sponsorships.
  • Responds to client requests, e.g., spot times, copies of their spots.
  • Prepares presentations, scripts, types & proofreads correspondence, files and makes copies.
  • Supports in the maintenance of all record keeping software, provides reports as requested and assists in tracking any metrics as assigned by the Director.
  • Answer phones, e-mails and social media inquiries for prize giveaways and other receptionist duties.
  • Responsibilities include working on location at station/ agency events, live broadcasts, interacting with listeners, artists, and sponsors.
  • Is available to work outside regularly scheduled working hours
  • Helps schedule radio station guests for interviews
  • Safeguards confidential information
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisors

Authority:

The employee exercises considerable initiative in setting priorities within the framework of the agency's policies and procedures. In case of emergency, the employee must make decisions to ensure coverage of switchboard.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate degree in related field with two years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO

Physical Demands:

The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 10 lbs. And frequent sitting.
